Seth and I were invited to take part in a our friends Jesse & Allison's wedding in Exuma, Bahamas. We were excited to leave what has become the bitter cold of November and relax, child-free, in 80+ degree weather. After much coordination and our amazing parents giving their time to be with the boys for five days, we took off!
Wellllll, American Airlines had [my favorite] a technical issue when we tried to leave from Minneapolis. Over three hours later, we were able to make it to Miami, but had missed both available connecting flights for the day and were stuck. We sucked up our salty attitudes about missing a day in the Bahamas and decided to make the best of it in Miami.
It was beautiful! We ate outdoors at an amazing seafood restaurant, walked the beach, and had some fun in an Ocean Drive bar [I'll take bar dancers, Michael Jackson style, any day]!
The next day.....we made it! We stayed at Sandals Emerald Bay. Stunning.
The pool & swim-up bar was something amazing.
The ocean was spectacular. I cannot put into words how striking the color was. White sand bottom, aquamarine water - best beach we've traveled to. Ever.
(We'll see how Aruba compares in January :-) ).
Our evenings were filled with drinks at the Drunken Duck, the rehearsal dinner, and an authentic Bahamian show!
And then it was wedding day!
Beautiful wedding. Awesome vacation.
Back to the tundra.....
