:: catching up ::

It seems that October hit and blogging needed to take a back seat to teaching, grad school, and pregnancy. When checking the blog today, the last thing I posted had to do with my excitement of starting in my new classroom, not yet knowing that I was pregnant. Well, here I am, 8.5 months later, complete with my first year of teaching, on summer vacation/maternity leave, done with grad school, and in full anticipation of our new addition sometime in the next week and a half. Ahhh!!

So, let's venture back to October and wrap up 2013!

We went to the Glensheen Spooktacular...

We carved our pumpkins and went trick-or-treating...

We spent some time by the lake...

We celebrated Owen and Grandma Lou's shared birthday...

We made our big announcement in our Christmas card...

Sandy returned.....then went missing for a week....and returned again...

We enjoyed the company of the three sisters during the Holiday Home Tour...

We enjoyed a Christmas Eve family sleigh ride...

and many other wintery things.

And that'll do it for 2013!

:: mystery masquerade ::

We threw an impromptu masquerade party to get into the Halloween spirit this past weekend, and considering the last minute nature of the event, we had a wonderful turnout! And if we're having a masquerade, why not throw a murder mystery in there?? :-)

Setting the mood.....

Black Heart Cider martinis.....black vodka = pretty sweet.

Smoky, bubbling drinks

We had a mystery menu wherein guests didn't know what food they would actually receive and what implement they would get to use.....

"How am I supposed to eat this cold leg of bat with a toothpick??"

Autumn taking another run at chopsticks...I mean, witch's broomsticks

Attempting to use the 'eliminator' .....

Everyone intently watching the murder suspect video.....

Time for questioning....and accusing

It was Rai! Or was it Rye....or Ray......however the hell you pronounce it! Dad's character was the cold-blooded killer.

What a fun night with family!
